Marcela Connor is the CEO of M2B, with 2 decades of successful experience in underwriting complex commercial exposures and is a Certified Insurance Counselor.

She started her insurance career as an intern for an independent agency in Louisiana while attending McNeese State University for her bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics. It was through the internship that she fell in love with the industry and insurance became her passion.

Marcela relocated to North Carolina with her family and worked at Burns and Wilcox as the Brokerage Commercial lines Manager breaking ground for a new Middle market division. She created, mentored, and managed the Brokerage team for the Carolinas, including Commercial Property, Liability, and Professional lines.

In 2015, she enrolled in New York University’s prestigious Global Risk Management Master’s program in NY, Amsterdam, and Abu-Dhabi, where she earned her master’s degree. Marcela has served as Vice President for Jencap from 2019 until 2022. In this capacity, she has expanded the Jencap NC team by leading the underwriting team with an enthusiastic focus on growth and service. She served on the WSIA education committee and facilitated insurance courses for this prestigious association.

Marcela specializes in insuring Large complex Contractors, Real Estate, Property Managers, and Hospitality accounts. She regularly attends training sessions to learn new insurance trends in the constantly developing marketplace.
